Aquila Christmas Cards
Ho, ho, ho!

Aquila's contribution to the Christmas Spirit is to create a series of card designs incorporating our very individual style of rhyming narrative.

The theme is normally developed in a bar somewhere, usually near to an exhibition venue. Then, our long suffering graphic artist is given the task of illustrating our "story".

For the first time, the entire series (two) of Aquila Christmas cards can now be viewed online.

This year's rhyme sees Santa's loyal team cruelly consigned to the dole queue, following an improvement in taxi-sleigh technology:

"Since Father Christmas dumped his sledge
in favour of a cab,
Life for Santa's been just fine,
not in the least bit drab.

He's got more time for having fun,
for partying, fun and frolics.
He’s installed that new taxi meter,
introduced by Aquila Electronics.

But what of Santa's reindeer pals,
loyal for all those years?
They're now all of them out of work,
they try to hide their tears.

They can't believe what's happened,
does Santa have no soul?
Abandoning these, his lifelong friends,
to languish on the dole."

2004's card sees Santa upsetting his fellow road users:

Santa's moving with the times,
His sledge has had to go.
It's been no good these last few years,
With hardly and snow.

So Santa's bought a taxi,
For his own personal use.
Because he doesn't pick up fares.
He's getting some abuse.

Though that makes old Santa sad,
The thing he really likes.
Is missing all the traffic,
'Longside buses, cabs and bikes.

So Santa really is quite pleased,
With the arrangements for this Winter.
Warm and snug inside his cab,
With Aquila meter and printer!
